Banded Agate Amethyst Geode Cathedral with a Rarely Seen UV-Reactive Calcite
A geode that would be beautiful on its own, this piece is topped by a gemmy, large calcite that fluoresces a bright cobalt pink under UV light (as pictured). It represents the utmost beauty in natural art. Its overall perfection will make it a standout in your mineral collection or a striking element in your home or office décor.
The main attraction of this specimen is the calcite, aesthetically placed at the center and formed as a twin, reminiscent of a bow tie for the geode. The calcite is gemmy, with a natural light cream color and subtle traces of rose. When exposed to UV light, it reveals its full beauty by fluorescing into a striking, bold cobalt pink.
The agate lines are another special feature of this amethyst, uniformly framing the specimen. Beginning with an intense blue agate, the layers evolve into blue and white bands, eventually making way for the amethyst crystals to form within the cave. The calcite at the front of the geode had its tip cut off during the process of opening the geode. This does not affect the overall aesthetics of the piece.
Cathedral-shaped, this geode stands 22 inches tall and weighs nearly 74 lbs, making it the perfect medium-sized specimen.
This exceptional Agate Amethyst Geode comes straight from the source—my hometown, Ametista do Sul, Brazil—and offers the peace of mind of being ethically sourced. Please check the pictures for more details, and feel free to message us with any questions or special requests.
