This beautiful sphere was carved from exceptional Diamantina quartz, a region internationally recognized for producing some of the clearest natural quartz in the world. With outstanding transparency, this sphere falls firmly within the AAA quality range.
Light travels easily through the crystal, revealing multiple internal rainbows formed by natural growth features and subtle internal planes. These natural structures add depth and movement, giving the sphere a refined, complex visual character highly valued in Diamantina material.
The quartz was hand-cut and polished by an experienced lapidary in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais. The final finish was done with cerium oxide—the same compound used in fine gemstone cutting—creating a smooth, mirror-like polish that enhances clarity while preserving the crystal’s natural identity.
Clear quartz spheres of this size and purity have become increasingly uncommon, as finding material with sufficient clarity and structural stability for carving is rare. This specimen offers an ideal balance of size, transparency, and internal beauty.
