Rare Blue Banded Agate Butterfly Geode with Amethyst Druzy Wings
This Blue Banded Agate Butterfly Geode was carefully cut and opened to reveal a naturally sculptural formation, where flowing blue agate frames deep purple amethyst-filled wings. The contrast between the agate layers and the amethyst druzy creates a balanced mineral sculpture with strong visual presence, suitable for serious collections or as a focal element in refined interiors.
The agate banding clearly records the geological growth process, formed over millions of years through successive mineral deposition. Each layer traces the evolution of the geode, while the central cavity provided ideal conditions for the deep purple Amethyst druzy to develop.
The butterfly-like wing format is a natural result of the original cavity shape. When opened, the geode revealed a symmetrical, sculptural silhouette. Cutting and polishing were performed only to expose the interior and enhance visibility, preserving natural proportions and mineral integrity.
These agate geodes with amethyst druzy remain untreated—no artificial enhancements were applied. Preparation was limited to cutting and polishing the external borders to reveal the crystal-lined interior.
Together, these characteristics reflect what we represent at E2D: ethical sourcing, rarity, refined aesthetics, and consistent quality. Please review the photos for additional details, and feel free to reach out with any questions or specific requests.
