Description
A particularly unusual Brazilian Amethyst Cluster, this collector specimen combines rich Deep Purple color with rare etched crystal surfaces and two prominent flower-like formations rising naturally from the upper part of the cluster. The combination of color, texture, and three-dimensional crystal growth gives this piece a character that is very different from a typical flat amethyst cluster.
What makes this specimen especially interesting is the crystal texture. Many of the amethyst points display naturally etched surfaces, giving the faces subtle irregularities, growth patterns, and textures that add another layer of detail when viewed up close. This kind of etched development is much less common than the smoother crystal faces normally seen in Brazilian amethyst.
At the top of the specimen, two raised crystal formations develop almost like natural flowers, standing above the surrounding druzy and giving the cluster a sculptural profile. Their larger crystals grow in different directions, creating depth and making these two formations the natural focal points of the piece.
The color is one of its strongest qualities. Deep violet purple tones cover the formation, with brighter flashes appearing across the larger crystals as the light moves over their faces. The saturation remains strong throughout the cluster while still allowing enough translucency in many of the points to give the piece a lively, gemmy appearance.
The crystal preservation is also excellent. The great majority of the visible points remain beautifully intact and well terminated, while the occasional natural contact or minor imperfection simply reflects the way the cluster formed and was recovered.
