A gorgeous agate geode featuring a mysterious geological formation and a rarely-seen composition of colors, this geode boasts stunning aesthetics. With its outstanding agate quality, it is sure to be an amazing addition to your crystal collection or decor space.
Its strongest feature is not only the amethyst—it is the complete internal landscape. Broad layers of blue, white, gray, and cream agate flow across the specimen in intricate landscaped patterns, surrounding several separate quartz and amethyst pockets. The central cavity forms a deep, narrow crystal cave filled with purple amethyst points, while the smaller side chambers add balance and make the formation feel almost architectural.
The upper agate layers developed in long, downward-flowing shapes that resemble frozen waterfalls or hanging curtains. Small moss-like green mineral inclusions appear throughout the blue agate and along the natural basalt border, adding contrast and preserving more of the geode’s geological history.

You may be wondering how the blue lace layers formed; this was an amazing process: Agates typically form inside bubbles or cavities in igneous (volcanic) basalt and, over time, are filled with layers of water with high concentrations of silica. The water slowly evaporates, forming a layer of silica gel, and then a solid layer is formed. It is a very slow process, and each layer contains different impurities, thus forming bands of different colors. Fantastic, isn't it?
