Instead of a single point, this piece was transformed into a sculptural star formation through a highly precise, hand-carved lapidary process. Each “ray” was individually shaped and brought to a sharp, clean termination, creating a layered starburst—like a crystal frozen in motion. The symmetry and the consistency of the angles take serious skill to execute, especially in a material as unforgiving as quartz.
What makes the carving even more impressive is that the work highlights the crystal, with the polishing done with care to keep the faces bright and reflective, so the sculpture catches light from multiple directions at once.
