A true collector-grade pair of Brazilian Amethyst Butterfly Wings, this AAA specimen brings together everything we look for in a high-level piece: rich Grape Jelly purple color, large gemmy crystal points, excellent translucency, beautifully matched formations, and a sculptural butterfly shape that gives the piece an impressive presence from every angle.

The color is one of the strongest qualities of the pair. The amethyst displays the highly sought-after Grape Jelly tone, with deep violet to purple crystals that become especially vivid under the light. The larger points show excellent translucency, while the darker crystal areas create strong contrast and give the wings much more depth.

The crystal growth is equally impressive. Larger, well-formed amethyst points develop along the open inner edges of both wings, growing in different directions and creating a highly three-dimensional formation. The contrast between the larger gemmy points and the finer surrounding druzy makes the crystal structure especially interesting to explore up close.

The butterfly shape is what gives this specimen its unmistakable character. The two matching geode slices are displayed side by side, creating a naturally balanced pair of wings while preserving the irregular curves and openings of the original formation.
