Matching Pair of Amethyst and Citrine Cathedral Geodes - Purple Amethyst with Intact Calcite + Orange Citrine
Cut from the same original geode, this matching pair of small cathedral geodes offers a beautiful balance of color and formation. The amethyst geode displays well-formed points in a lavender tone, while the citrine geode glows with warm orange druzy and bright, reflective crystals.
Their natural formation is another standout feature. A thin basalt skin surrounds the druzy, and on the amethyst geode you can see a prominent, intact calcite crystal. The citrine geode shows a color that glows from within the crystals and carries through to the tips of the points, creating a fiery look that is not commonly seen.
These two specimens were originally one geode that was cut into a pair. The citrine side was carefully heat-treated to bring out its best color tone—a common and accepted process for Brazilian citrine—resulting in a harmonious set designed to be displayed together.
