Rare Geode with Calcite Covered in Amethyst
Elegant and sculptural, this rare amethyst geode features one of the most unusual combinations found in an intact, all-natural specimen: beautifully formed calcite covered in amethyst. The result is the kind of piece that instantly stands out in a collection, rare, clean, and genuinely eye-catching as a focal point in any space.
Here, nature did something truly uncommon. Calcite formed over the chalcedony matrix, creating clusters and flower-like structures that developed inside the pocket. These calcite formations were later fully covered in lavender amethyst, giving the geode a one-of-a-kind look and strong collector appeal.
The color palette is another rare feature of this piece. The matrix shows pastel chalcedony tones that contrast beautifully with the amethyst inside, creating a natural composition that feels soft, clean, and well balanced.
